Love is what Nick Does: Creating Visuals

I love creating visuals of all kinds: videography, photography, motion graphics, 3D animation, or anything else. But why?

1. I love seeing and hearing the response from people who love my work.

When I post a video online and people begin complimenting it, I cannot help but smile to myself internally. I love making people happy through the entertainment or visuals that I create. To see someone share the photos I shot for them and say “Look at these pictures! They’re awesome!” always makes my day so much better. When I hear that a wedding highlight video I made makes people cry (out of happy emotion, not pity for the video!), I feel like what I’m doing is actually affecting people’s lives, and it makes me want to work even harder to make people cry. 😉

2. I love creating things that no one has ever seen before.

Each photo that is captured presents different elements and emotions for the viewer. No two photos are the same! No two videos or films are identical. I love making content that people feel is unique, and unique to them. For this reason, I strive to give them everything I can do: videography with unique style, visual effects and motion graphics incorporated with an aerial shot, and great editing to the song of their choice.

3. Films and other visuals inspire me to inspire others with my own films and visuals.

Everyone gets a little bit excited when they walk through the door of a movie theater to see a movie that they are interested in. When the lights dim and the “silence your cell phone” line is spoken, everyone quiets down in anticipation. When the main character holds his dying friend and the soundtrack of the film plays, everyone is moved by sorrow. When Captain America fights an epic battle to save the good in the world, everyone walks out of the theater ready to take on the world. It’s the story that matters, and the story that truly makes a person different.
I want to make people feel something. I want to create stories that make people like what they hear and encourage those who need an encouraging word (or bring people down that need to be brought down).

Stories make a difference: stories through films, stories through pictures, stories through motion graphics – they all work in their own ways. But in the end, it’s the story that really matters, and the way we tell them.
