Business as Usual

I find myself always trying to make myself better at something. I shoot wedding videos, do senior portraits, practice visual effects, and learn new techniques in all my endeavors.

However, I’ve been learning recently that it’s not always about how good you are at something, it’s more about you. Who are you and why do you do the things that you do? What’s your story? Everyone’s got one, and you need to know yours. Knowing your profession better than anyone else will get you hired at good places, and will keep you constantly busy. I’ve been asking myself the question “Why don’t I just relax for once?” And for the past week, I have. And let me be the first to say that it was a great experience! Sometimes one just needs to take a break from all the work he or she does. The best work is done when you are alert and ready to get at it again, so why not give ourselves a break once and a while?

Especially in the visual media field, one must practice practice practice in order to suceed. However, it may be helpful to take a little rest here and there after long nights of working. It can be very beneficial.
